This petition is simple, if one is old and mature enough to consciously make a decision to join the military knowing that they may very well die for this country, they are also old and mature enough to drink alcohol.
The majority of nations in this world set eighteen as the minimum drinking age. Eighteen is also the age that the majority of "adult" freedoms are granted to individuals in this country, including the right to vote. The right to drink should be no different.
Finally, there are numerous organizations, including college and university presidents, that believe the drinking age should be reassessed in this country. This petition is to begin the debate.
