Make all creative works of deceased authors made before 1960 Public Domain

Created by G.R. on April 05, 2014

Due to tampering with copyright laws, no works will enter Public Domain until 2019. This is an obscene amount of time to wait until works of long-dead 1920s enter the public domain. Public Domain works have given us so much. We all stand to gain from this. The heart of copyright law is to allow author's to live of their works under the protection of the law, therefore fostering their creativity to make more works. It is senseless that that right extends to dead authors, who neither benefit from it nor can they create new works. So we respectfully ask that these works that no longer benefit their creators are moved into the Public Domain, for the benefit of everyone and the works themselves.
