This petition is to sign into federal law, that Presidential Election Day and furthermore, all elections for national representatives for each state be a national paid holiday.
This is to ensure that the people of this country have more of a chance to be heard. As it stands, most of us live pay check to pay check. Maybe a little better, maybe a little worse. All employers would be required to pay their employees, closing businesses if necessary.
It should also supersede any orientation period for paid holidays for employees who've recently started a new job i.e. the standard 90 days for paid holidays rule.
Election day should be a paid holiday.
