We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Make all high schools required to have a MANDATORY class which educates students about money.

Created by J.F. on June 27, 2016

In the real world, adults have to go through the complicated process of making budgets, responsibly obtaining and using a debit and/or credit card, managing debt, paying taxes, etc. As of now only 5 states require all public schools to have a mandatory class teaching about financial matters. This is insane. Managing money is one of the few skills that is actually required of every student when they go into the real world. Many teens when going off to college realize they have no idea how to even pay their taxes which is an essential part of life. Therefore there should definitely be a requirement for all schools across the country to have a mandatory, not elective, class that teach about financial matters.
