make all lobbying contacts with elected legislators public - not illegal, not regulated, just open to public scrutiny.

Created by B.S. on October 28, 2011

Americans are disgusted that wealthy corporations have access to secret negotiations with our elected officials. This petition proposes that all contacts lobbyists have with legislators and their staff be made public and reported by neutral media (like C-Span) so that the people may see how the issues are being molded, what is paid and to whom and for what resulting legislation or delay thereof.
This is cost free, needs no constitutional changes or regulations. If indeed legislators are not swayed by lobbyists' monies, let them show us.
If President Obama were to introduce such a measure, I believe his re-election would be assured and our battered democracy would be redeemed.
