Elected officials should not be allowed to vote on their own raises! The American People should vote whether they get a raise or not! If they do their job they will get voted a raise, if not they don't get one, and know they need to step up and do a better job!
If the American People do not get to decide their own pay raise at their daily jobs, why should the Government? The Government is supposed to work for the American People, and the American People should make decisions on their pay raises!
