Make all sitting members of Congress ineligible for re-election if the approval rating of Congress drops below 25%

Created by G.M. on January 30, 2014

If you had a job approval rating of 13%, you would be fired. As of January 14, 2014 the job approval of the Congress of the USA was 13%. In 2012, it dropped as low as 10%.

Congress is our country's leading legislative branch. Our Senators and Congressmen are elected to represent the wants and needs of the people. But they are doing nothing. We, the people, must change this if we hope to improve our society and fix the problems that our country faces.

Congress will not change its behavior. Consider that the current salary for Congress members is $174,000 per year. This does not include funding from lobbyists.

By creating a rule that all sitting Congress members are ineligible for re-election if approval drops below 25%, it will motivate Congress to act on our behalf.
