Many bright students can't attend college because they can't afford it. Moreover, government handout to these students isn't entirely fare either because it isn't entirely performance based. This petition seeks a system of student loans that is performance based. For example, if a student gets a 4.0 grade point average (GPA), their loan is forgiven. If they get a 3.0 GPA they pay back 50% of their loan. If they get a 2.0 GPA they pay 100% of their loan. The general form is that they pay back 2-GPA/2 assuming a 4.0 is the highest they can achieve. This gives students incentive to perform well in school, increase our competiveness in the world and gives the American tax payer more bang for our buck.
