Make an annual base salary of $40,000 for every member of the United States Senate and United States House of Representatives. The current salary of a member of Congress is $174,000 a year and that is not including the money they receive from special interest groups. If the President is truly serious about our budget then he would approve this as law. Instead of cutting troops and benefits from Americans, cut Congress salaries since they are making a fortune from the American people. We would save $71.4 million dollars annually if this were to happen. Please take action on this very serious issue instead of some silly idea of a trillion dollar coin.
