Make antibiotic use illegal except for treating bacterial infections in humans.

Created by J.K. on October 23, 2013

Antibiotics were one of [the most], if not the most, transformational discoveries in all of medicine. Infections are something that we struggled to treat for many, many years, for centuries before the advent of antibiotics, and infections were a major cause of death before the advent of antibiotics.

What are today considered routine procedures such as organ transplants and hip replacements, or even cosmetic surgery, will soon be life-threatening if antibiotics become impotent. This would endanger not only your life but especially your childrens', as antibiotics lose their effectiveness.

There is mounting evidence that using antibiotics in other areas besides treating humans is playing a major role in this trend. The very least we can do is prevent them from being abused.
