We the people, regardless of political party, are tired of being harassed, sometimes daily, in the weeks leading up to every election by various political calls, including those calls which masquerade as "surveys".
Regardless of the fact that the Federal Trade Commission currently does a horrible job of enforcing the current Do Not Call Registry, we feel that politicians will take the Do Not Call Registry, or a similar such registry, more seriously than private industry because it could end up costing politicians votes if they decide to call those people who request not to be called.
Even if nothing but a canned response is generated as a result of this petition, we would like to raise public awareness of how frustrated we have become at the frequency of these political calls!
