Make any form of animal abuse a FEDERAL FELONY. This would include dog fighting, and any form of animal neglect.

With the current laws, animals besides humans are considered 'sub-species,' & therefore inferior to humans. This is simply not true. Animals deserve protection as much as people do--more so if you consider they don't have a voice in our legal system. Animals deserve protection anywhere in the U.S.A. State laws have not prevented the unconscionable cruelty administered to dogs, cats, horses, donkeys, chickens, cows, mules, and numerous other undomesticated species at the hands of ignorant people. To be the voice of these voiceless creatures, the United States government needs to resoundingly pass a federal law that ceases puppy mills, stops dog and cock fighting, prevents animals from being used in medical experiments, and prevents the inhumane transportation and treatment of animals.
