Recently the Senate just passed the Market Place Fairness Act but is it really fair? Congress wants individual tax payers to pay online state sales tax upfront on every online purchase made if the bill passes. Yet at the same time Congress allows corporations like APPLE to funnel profits overseas to places like Ireland and pay a lower overall tax then you and I pay. Is it really fair for corporations to pay only 2% tax on its profits just because its a multinational company and can you use offshore tax accounting gimmicks? The Supreme Court just ruled that corporations are people with its Citizens United case and should be afforded the same opportunity. I say let congress give the corporations the same opportunity to pay the same tax rate as you and I do!
