A hate crime is described as a crime that is motivated by a prejudice usually involving violence. We should be protecting the ones who protect us on a daily basis. When law enforcement is singled out because of who they are and what they wear and being attacked this is a problem. In recent times, police officers are being targeted with violence solely because of their profession. They protect the good from the bad, the innocent from guilty, and are placed in dangerous situations everyday. We should protect the ones who would lay down their life for ours. I would hate to imagine a world with no police. We would have no protection and would be forced to protect ourselves. Attacks on police should be classified as hate crimes.
