1. we will not have huge deficits to pay off or leave for our future generations to pay off
2. if anything happens we actually may have a surplus one year and have money to react to catastrophes like hurricanes, earthquakes, wars more effectively and not get in more debt.
3. We may actually be able to get closer to out of debt and stop us from hitting this financial cliff that is looming over our heads as the debt gets bigger and bigger.
4. This would make us have to prioritize what we want in our budget and get rid of some wasteful spending.
5.Also this would make the senators and representatives in congress hurry up and make a budget.
