Make companies who have people working 30 of the 40 hour work week be eligible for bereavement pay. It is not something that happens every day for people and for some, even taking 3 days off and losing pay can make or break you. People who lose immediate family shouldn't have to decide whether they want groceries or to attend a funeral.
