Make Bullying a crime

Created by M.N. on April 08, 2013

Bullying affects more than 160,000 children who miss school every day due to fear of attack or intimidation by other students. Even though: 282,000 students are physically attacked in secondary schools each month, we as adults need to ensure that our children are safe at schools. We all know that child abuse is considered to be any recent act or failure to act on the part of a parent or caretaker which results in death, serious physical or emotional harm, sexual abuse or exploitation". It is also: "an act or failure to act which presents an imminent risk of serious harm. Bullying is defined as unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged a child that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. We the people want bullying to be charged as a form of child abuse.
