Cacti are pretty cool.
In the past I have had arguments with people that people should start handing out cactus's instead of roses for formal events. Last time I checked roses can't produce fruit. That's one for cacti. Also cacti live longer, that's two. If you need more than two reasons to have cacti as our national plants then there is just no satisfying you.
A signature for cacti is a signature for humanity.
