Capitol punishment, death penalty, should be made more torturous or painful. Today's laws have made it so that punishment by death is quick and painless. This has led to it not being a deterrent to committing crimes punishable by death. If the death penalty was more torturous and painful it would make an actual deterrent to those committing heinous crimes that are punishable by death. Also making these executions more public or even possibly televised would, in a sense, scare people from committing crimes. This would lead to a decrease in crimes punishable by death. Then in return would improve our crime rates and the country as a whole.
