Make the Catholic Church pay taxes like the rest of the country. They cost the US government $71 billion

The Catholic Church costs the US $71,000,000,000 annually. Rather than fighting over budget cuts and finger pointing over the deficit, start the repair by taxing the church. What advancements has the church made in anything in the past 600 years. They have only retarded the process. Theories the church has dismissed: heliocentrism, gravity, spherical earth, evolution, and basically have resisted every single advancement in science that contradicts scripture. We have seen the damage the church does to our country; just look at the LGBT and abortion issues. The only reason why people oppose the two issues is because of scripture. We deny equal rights because of the church, we remove funding for science because of the church. It has to end. Tax the church!!
