VAWA (violence against women act) was started with a noble idea, however many women have used this act and it's ease to leverage outcomes in divorce proceedings, punish significant others or just cause problems for men they dislike. There is no due process in the law which is illegal, yet no one has been able to challenge it. My ex girlfriend simply went in front of a judge and claimed abuse, without so much as a 911 call and was able to keep everything I owned when I broke up and attempted to move out. She further went and claimed I violated the order while I was 1000 miles away which caused my incarceration. After spending 17 days in jail and $15000 on attorneys fees, she simply took my belongings and moved. I lost my job, my property and my freedom on nothing but a lie by a jilted girl
