Illinois is in major debt and a majority of its expenses are due to the City of Chicago. The state would be financially balanced if it wasn't attached to Chicago and Illinois would no longer be known as Chicago and the sticks. Outside of Chicago and its suburbs Illinois is primarily a conservative state and would be better off without being ran by a city that's not even its capital. The current governor spends a majority of his time in Chicago currently and doesn't care about anyone outside of that city.
