Make the Child Support Laws Federally Regulated and Fair for the Parent Paying Child Support

Created by C.C. on September 26, 2011

Women have been fighting for there right to be equal to men (i.e. to vote, make the same amount of money, hold the same job positions, etc.) for over 150 years. We see more and more people not able to make ends meet in there own homes because they are paying out so much money in child support.

We should federally mandate the amount of child support paid out, what counts as wages to take child support from, and stop putting people in jail for not paying child support. If they are sitting in jail then they can't get jobs to take care of there children.

There should be a cap as far as how much someone gets per child (It doesn't take $1000 per month to take care of a child) and if the parent can't take care of the child by themselves then the child should be placed with the other parent.
