Make "civil and criminal asset forfeiture" illegal. These laws exploit a loop hole in our 5th and 6th amendments.

Created by M.R. on September 07, 2013

Civil and criminal asset forfeiture allows our government to seize our property without prosecution or a trial by jury. It exploits a loop hole in our constitution by declaring a lawsuit against properties suspected of use in a crime (i.e. USA vs. $6,750 or USA vs. 172 First Street, Lexington KY). Because properties aren't considered as Citizens of America they are not given a trial and can be seized due to something as minuscule as "suspicious activity". These laws allow law enforcement to seize your home and property if ANY criminal activity (i.e. A complete stranger making a suspected "drug deal" on your property, home or buisness). There have been several victims of this constitutional loop hole and they are left homeless without ever being convicted or prosecuted of any crime.
