Every year police officers seize millions of dollars in property and cash based on the pretense of illegal use, yet these officers fail to charge the owners with a crime. This power is being abused by law enforcement agencies to unnecessarily fund police coffers at the expense of the citizens they are tasked with protecting. We the people urge the Obama administration to limit the power of these seizures to cases where criminal charges are pressed and successfully convicted.
