Government workers rarely are held accountable in the same manner as private industry workers. Work rules should be revised to allow for swift punishment or termination for government workers who waste taxpayer money, act unethically, practice personal vendettas on taxpayers, lie, falsify records, steal, do not meet standards, fail to achieve desired outcomes, do not meet department goals, or are not providing service to we the people "customers".
