Make behavior education in our schools mandatory to help students develop valuable tools that will give them the ability to identify unusual patterns of thinking and emotions in themselves and others. The curriculum in schools at the present time does not provide our children with the information necessary to understand their own behavior. I believe this is directly related to horrific violent acts like Sandy Hook. If children were given the ability to recognize when their emotions are being overwhelmed or errors in thinking they will know when it's time to reach out for help. This will also help with the stigma attached to mental illness by changing the way we think about what it really is and accepting this as a real disease.
