If kids are our country’s future, why are they locked up like criminals for hours on end each school day then subjected to a life of coercive debt labor after graduating into an economy in which finding jobs is near impossible due to the fact that many public schools seek to achieve higher test scores instead of giving them knowledge and skills needed to confidently pursue careers they want to during times of drastic economic change? Today's institutions filter what children learn and keep them under constant surveillance more than ever before. Over-sterilized educational environments which focus on narrow skillets can't last forever. Anyone else agree?
John Taylor Gatto probably would.
