Make the Commission on Presidential Debates truly non-partisan and more inclusive of third party candidates.

The CPD sets rule for the presidential debates. Presently candidates must have at least 15% support in 5 national polls. A 3rd-party has not made the debate stage since ’92, thereafter CPD raised the criteria making qualification more difficult and giving the appearance that CPD will increase criteria to whatever level necessary to exclude candidates not of the 2 parties that control access. CPD leadership has equal numbers of democrats and republican directors and co-chairmen, ensuring neither of the 2 parties have an advantage over the other. However, CPD sets rules that make participation by 3rd parties substantially impossible. Criteria for inclusion in the presidential debates should be more reasonable and favor the interests of the American electorate, not the 2 parties in power.
