Veterans day should be a day off for veterans to reflect on their service and of those they may have lost in service. However, many companies are open on Veterans Day and require Veterans to work. I propose that a federal law be enacted to require Veterans working on Veterans Day a minimum pay of triple time. This would be for all Veterans with an honorable discharge who can produce a valid DD-214. This would also, be across the board for ALL employees regardless of a pay scale or CBA.
