from the OK corral to Newtown, CT law abiding citizens are in more danger in gun free zones than any where else in the country. assault weapons bans have no effect on violent crime. all encompassing gun bans increase violent crime. concealed carry laws reduce crime.
many public colleges have minimal security staffing yet these same colleges remain "gun free zones" just as Virginia Tech was. these colleges irresponsibly deny students and faculty the basic human right to self defense while failing to provide any real security. it is essential that congress pass a law stating that no college that remains a gun free zone retain public funding. we cannot stand by while law abiding citizens are murdered.
