Congress and the Senate recieve a 6 figure salary whether they show up for work or not. Their food, homes, transportation, and their insurance are all paid for by the tax payers. They get paid holidays, some extended holidays. The average citizen gets paid what they work, most dont get paid holidays or time off. Citizens have to pay for their dinners,home, transportation and insurance from their wages., Since congress/senate has their insurance, food, housing paid for, they dont need a 6 figure income. The people elected into office should earn the same hourly rate the rest of country does. Once they leave office, they will be like any other citizen, unemployeed. No extras.
