make congress work through the holiday season until they come up with a plan to avoid the fiscal cliff.

Although America is at a critical point in revenue and tax policy, congress is allowed to bicker and stymie one another with no personal repercussions. It is time to put members under the magnifying glass and force them to continue to make progress until a deal is reached. Many Americans are forced to miss time with their families during the holidays for much less, say making a pizza delivery. So, it is not unreasonable to ask them to do the same for sake of a much larger cause. Republicans and democrats must come to an agreement through the compromising of ideals. If they cannot do this by their break we should force them to experience what their fellow Americans face every year.
