Make corporal punishment illegal.

I believe the Obama Administration should make corporal punishment illegal in the United States. Corporal punishment is defined as physical punishment, as spanking, inflicted on a child by an adult in authority. Strict laws should be put in place to punish those who use corporal punishment as a means of discipline. Corporal punishment is a form of child abuse and therefore should be treated as such in the court of law. Corporal punishment has many negative effects both emotionally and physically that can affect a child for their entire life leading them to believe that this is an effective means of discipline when they raise their own children, which is not the case because it is abusive and detrimental.
