Make customs track international packages that already have tracking info.
Then customs won't be a BLACKHOLE where packages can sit for months or even vanish with the consumer left in confusion with nowhere to get help.
Customs is currently untraceable and uncontactable except via USPS who seems to try to prevent people from submitting such claims to begin with. When an item is LOST in customs and not explicitly confiscated/no letter sent you still can't file an insurance claim and it's ridiculous.
If we're going to have such nonsense bureaucracy, they should at least be held accountable for lost items just the same way the post office is.
