The day of Ashura is the saddest day in the history of Shia Muslims. On this day our prophet was be-headed and every man in the family was killed. Even a 6month old baby boy. They were all thirsty for days as access to water was denied to them.The women were paraded on the streets and imprisoned. This is a day for prayers and mourning. Most people including myself can't take off from work. Therefore every penny I make this day I donate to the poor or to my mosque. This day is very similar to the day of Jesus Christ's crucifixtion. Hopefully our prayers will be answered and President Obama will make this day a federal holiday. God Bless America and our President. Thank you.
