The practice of Daylight Saving Time introduced in 1895 was officially adopted by much of the United States in the 1950s and DST use expanded following the 1970s energy crisis. Since the 1970's, the United States has moved away from agricultural as a top industry, and top opponent of DST, to our current economic forces & top contributors to the GDP of; Real Estate, State & Local Government, Finance & Insurance, Health & Social Care and Durable Manufacturing. All of which; business, employees & families, would benefit by keeping daylight during winter months. Diagnosis of Seasonal Affective Disorder & depressions would likely decrease, potentially decreasing suicide rates that increase during Standard Time, potentially saving the healthcare industry & the Affordable Care Act billions.
