Make domain squatting punishable by law

Created by D.C. on June 01, 2013

Let me start off with a story, Im part of a minecraft gaming community and we're looking for a new name. So we found some, and voted on them. We chose a winner and when we went to go and buy the domain, we were appalled to find that some company is squatting on it and charging a ridiculous fee (3,000$) claiming that it was a "premium" name. This isn't the first time that I have seen this happen. We're just a small group of high schoolers, who simply want to run a minecraft server and have a good website for our forum that we didn't have to pay thousands for. The only thing domain squatting accomplishes is crushing the creativity of others, and creates other problems. I urge the Obama Administration to take action against these acts of greed and general rudeness.
