Dynamic efforts need to be made toward reforming the leasing of apartments. Lease terms of six months or greater, are unreasonable, especially in a volatile economy.
Being twenty-five years old, and having signed three separate lease contracts in my lifetime, I can attest that lease contracts benefit the leaser far more than the lessee. And if your wondering, no, I have never broken a lease.
The issue of greatest importance on a lease, is the condition that the lessee MUST pay rent for a set term, which is usually six months or greater, regardless of any unforeseeable changes that can happen in employment, transportation, or health, amongst any other unexpected things that can drastically impact the lessee's ability to fulfill the contract.
