Make Eagle scouts a protected class in the United States to ensure that hate crimes for being nerds are rectified.

In the public discourse concerning human rights, our nation's Eagle Scouts are too often left unnoticed. While other minorities have seen tremendous strides forward, our Eagle Scouts are being treated with blatant disrespect. It is bad enough being a boy scout, but when the threat of "eagle bashing" looms over a young child's head, suicide may seem like their only option. While laws protecting Scouts may not dissuade them from ending their pathetic and lonely lives, it is definitely a start in the right direction. It is time for our country to take the lead in protecting these nerd babies. As Mahatma Gandhi once said, "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its Eagle Scouts are treated". Let us make sure they are treated, at the very least, OK.
