Make the education of students on the topic of rape and rape prevention mandatory in all public schools.

Created by H.N. on March 28, 2013

All too often, young women AND men in this country are sexually assaulted and left with permanent mental scars. The sad truth is that many rapists don't understand the concept of rape. Sadly, many people think the absence of a "no" automatically means "yes". If the children of America were to be taught about rape, its lasting effects on the victims, and how they can prevent it, it is very probable that the number of rapes nationwide will sharply decrease. We ask that a federal law or executive order be made requiring that public school students, starting from the sixth grade, be given a rape awareness class annually and take a small test or quiz each year regarding what they have learned so that the knowledge they gain stays with them.
