Eid is a Muslim holiday that is observed twice a year. Muslims are encouraged to take time off of work and school to celebrate. However, this holiday is not nationally recognized.
Islam is one of the fastest growing religions in the world. We observe other religions' holidays nationally, such as Christianity, Judaism, Catholicism, etc., but neglect to observe Islamic holidays.
The First Amendment of the Constitution states that Americans have the right to practice the religion they wish. How can Muslims practice their religion if they are unable to take time off work or school to do so?
Please sign this petition to help make Eid a national holiday. Every person has the right to practice their religion, and no person should be denied that right just because they can't get the day off.
