Low voter turnout has been an issue for a very long time. The United States has ranked extremely low in national voter turnout in the last few decades compared to other democratic countries. One reason why voter turnout is low is because Election Day is on a Tuesday, a work day for the majority of people. This is why I propose making Election Day a federal holiday, so everyone can have a chance to do their civic duty.
