Mr President and fellow citizens,
I ask you to make Election Day a federal holiday so that we as a country can improve political awareness and voter turnout.
Holidays have a way of representing the identity of a country. Washington's Birthday, MLK Jr's Birthday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Veteran's Day, Labor Day... What better way to honor the people who gave us freedom, who fought inequality and protect us from harm then to preform our civic duty?
Lets recognize this day, unite the country and join their fight for our future.
