Election Day should be a Federal Holiday. Too many people have too many things going on in their hectic lives. This leads to people forgetting to vote or not getting a chance to vote. Advancements in voting procedures have shortened lines, but still there are many that can't take the time to wait at all. For example, some may need to be at work by 10 am and work a 12 hour shift. They can wait in line before work because they are afraid the process will make them late for work. Others have "normal" work hours, but large families. This means they have to take kids to dance, karate, gymnastics or whatever else may be on the agenda. One thing that has less patience than a child is the parent that runs a child's activity.
Require employers to provide paid absence with proof of voting.
