By making it a federal holiday, businesses and institutions across the country would close for the day.
This would not only allow workers to have an additional day of rest, but many people would have the option to vote without sacrificing pay or the time already allotted to handle personal matters on their already busy weekends.
We claim that it is an important duty of every American citizen to wisely consider and choose who will lead our democracy... so then why don't we enable our citizens to treat it that way and codify it in our laws?
