Election Day showed how time consuming and difficult it is for some people to vote. Making Election Day a federal holiday would make it easier for more people to participate in voting, our most important civic duty. In addition, it would enable many, such as teachers and government workers, to volunteer on Election Day. It would also show our respect and admiration for partaking in this civil duty.
