It would be in the best interest of the people to declare Election Day to be a Federally recognized holiday in order to assure all citizens of the United States of America have an equal amount of time to voice their opinion through the electoral process during election day. Making Election Day would also serve as a reminder to the United States' founding principle of Democracy, and would show the government's recognition of the importance of participating in the cherished process of voting. Having a Federal Holiday on Election Day would also drastically increase the voter turnout in the U.S, which would give the elections a more accurate interpretation of the people's desire. The U.S has some of the lowest voter-turnout ratings among other first-world countries. Extend the ability to vote.
