Make Election Day a national holiday.

Created by N.L. on January 22, 2013

Election Day is a nightmare, especially when you have to find some way to squeeze voting into your day along with everything else you have going on. Early voting and mail-in ballots help, but millions of voters still go to the polls to vote in person. Voting is a civic duty in any democracy and should be strongly encouraged. Giving Americans a day off from work to ease the stress of voting could go a long way towards increasing turnout and strengthening our democracy.
