As President Obama mentioned voting rights in both his 2012 victory speech and his 2nd inaugural address, we petition that the Obama administration push to make election day a national holiday. Many Americans find it difficult to get time off work to make it to the polls, especially with long lines, effectively disenfranchising them. A first step to rectify this problem is to make election day a national holiday.
